Week 31   April 4-8, 2016

Can you believe it is already April!  This will be such a fun month!

Congratulations to our Virtue Award winners.  Alejandra received the award for Friendship, and we all know what a great friend she is.
William received the award for Perseverance.  He is always patient and kind to everyone, and shows stamina in the classroom in all the work we do.  When he has finished his work, he is faithful to help others as well!

ELA

Spelling:

Monday: real, recover, mountain, speak, past, might, contract, deal, all, almost
Tuesday: brought, bring, less, event, off, of, truth, true, took, again
Wednesday: inform, both, heart, month, child, children, build, built, understand, follow
Thursday: Write words once with markings in preparation for the test tomorrow.

Science

We will be learning about electricity, and how it carries energy into our homes so we may use electrical items.   We will learn how matter change can build up through friction, conduction, or induction.  When a charge builds, static electricity forms.

HISTORY

We will continue to learn about the American Revolution, studying George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, and Betsy Ross!
We had a "little tea party" to introduce our study of the Boston Tea Party.  Aiden was a magnificent actor (as he had no script!).

MATH

In math this week we will be looking at "greater than, and less than symbols".  We will begin to add a two-digit number to a one-digit number with out renaming.

The virtue this month is integrity.  I especially like this virtue as it speaks a great deal about the character of a person.

Let no pleasure tempt thee, no profit allure thee, no persuasion move thee, to do anything which thou knowest to be evil; so shalt thou always live jollily; for a good conscience is a continual Christmas."   ~Benjamin Franklin

Our family's newest addition. Charlie Camilla Elizabeth Sipe.....8lb. 4oz.

I am having so much fun!  Have a great week!
