Week 32 April 11-15, 2016
Friday is a Half Day!
Parents, that you for replenishing some of our supplies, but we are still in great need of red pencils, and regular pencils!
Congratulations to everyone for a successful Spring Concert! It is exciting to see how much the students have matured, and were able to stand tall on stage for three beautiful songs!
I'm sorry, I had more pictures but my phone has been giving me a hard time!
ELA
We begin reading Sam the Minuteman this week so if you have not sent your book in, please make sure you do that tomorrow.
I apologize for not having the spelling list to give you today. I was out Friday and was unable to get the list from Ms. Spriggs.
HISTORY
This week we will be studying famous American symbols, such as the Statue of Liberty, the Bald Eagle, Washington D.C., the Capital, and the Liberty Bell.
SCIENCE
We will continue our study of electricity within various types of circuits. Students love this unit! Many have brought in circuit boards and different
mechanical things they have made at home. This makes learning so much more fun!
MATH
We will continue to focus our attention on adding two digit numbers without renaming, using vertical algorithms.
Monday: Workbook pages 155-156
Tuesday: Workbook pages 157-160
Wednesday: Packet
Thursday: Workbook pages 161-162
We have been really looking at the virtue of Integrity this week. We have discussed that it is easier to maintain your integrity, that it is to regain it! We have been having conversations about honesty, and what it is that makes a person choose to be dishonest. They have some very interesting ideas! Basically, they realize that it is fear that makes people choose to be dishonest. It is a pleasure to have such great thinkers in my classroom! Parents, you are doing a great job!
HAVE A GREAT WEEK!
