Week 27  February 29-March 4, 2016

Friday, March 4th is a Half day!

The excitement of the week was the field trip to the planetarium!  We had a safe and fun day and learned many new details about space.

Great friends had a wonder-filled Great Hearts Day at the MCC Planetarium!

Be sure and check the dates in the margin for the next calendar events.

You may have heard your child discuss hygiene this week.  We have ALL been discussing the importance of keeping clean each day.  The days are getting hotter and the students sweat quite a bit.  There have been temptations among the students to make fun of some children in regards to this.  I am working very hard to make sure this does not happen!  As a class we discussed what we could do each day to make sure we are clean, and that our uniforms are clean as well.  The class decided that bathing or showering each day would be a great idea.  This is a thoughtful group of students.

ATTENTION PARENTS

We have some more details concerning our planetarium field trip.
Although the planetarium is free of charge, we have a bus expense.  Each student will need to pay $10.00 to help with the cost.
Also, we need student contact information to be filled out before your student may go.  These items can be taken care of by using the link below.

PLEASE CLICK HERE

Please note chaperones, you will need to be in the classroom by 8:15 on Wednesday morning.   We will break into our groups and discuss the day ahead.  I will be bringing water bottles in case students need extra water.  We will be eating at Freestone park afterwards, so make sure your child has sunscreen on if you so choose.  The lunches you pack for them will remain on the bus while we are at the planetarium.  It will be a beautiful day out and we will return to the school by 12:30.  It is early release day so students will be out at 1:45.

Thank you for all the gifts and helping me celebrate my birthday last Monday.  I will put the gift card to good use!

I can recommend the conference by Dr. Charles Faye, the founder of the Love and Logic discipline curriculum.  I saw him in person last summer and it was very entertaining.  He uses a lot of examples and has great stories.  He can answer many of the questions you may have concerning the training and disciplining of your children.  The details are in the Newsletter you received this weekend from Archway.

Friendship is born at that moment when one person says to another:  "What! You too? I thought I was the only one."

- C.S. Lewis
